There could be an email server down in your area. This usually gets fixed quickly but you might need to contact Customer Care. Be prepare to tell them where you are and your internet provider:

Did you respond to an email that seemed to come from yahoo asking for your name and password? You've been hacked. It might be possible to recover the account by using the 'forgot your password' on the sign on page.
If that does not work contact customer care about this. If you remember your questions and answers they can help you get the account back.
Can't access my Yahoo email account any longer after using the same user ID and password for years. What's up?
