How can I text messages from my computer? I currently use yahoo email and was told to just text it Help?

I am going on a ship and won't have access to a telephone. i was told to purchase the internet service on board and text my messages to my kids cel phones. How do I do that? Where do I sign up? Does yahoo offer this service?

Use standard email and send an email to their phone. You'll have to check with their cellphone provider to find out what the email address of the phone is, but for cingular its similar to 5551212@mycingular.com





Or you can download and install Yahoo Messanger from http://messenger.yahoo.com/





Install it, use the same info you use to connect to your yahoo profile, and under the Actions tab there is an option to send SMS (which is texting).

Reply:Try 1112223333@teleflip.com, where 111 is the area code , 222 is the prefix and 3333 is the suffix. Use this format when you don't know the recipient carrier (i.e. Cingular, Sprint,T-mobile, etc...). Check your characters limit because it might get truncated on the receiving end. Report Abuse

Reply:Go to the web site for the service, there should be a long there. It will also allow you to set the date and time the text is received on their phones.
Reply:Just address the email to their cell phone numbers, area code first.





EX: 555-555-1212@whatevertheirdomain is.

Reply:all you have to do is have aim on your computer and make "MY IP Relay" as your buddy and you type the number you want to call and an operater will talk to them for free
